Greetings Students and Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to English II! This course is designed to introduce students to global perspectives by exploring the literature of various cultures throughout history. Extending on the exploration of these texts, our goal as a class will be to study and analyze various works of world literature in hopes of widening our understanding of perspectives and context as they are complicated by and connected to human experience. A large part of reaching this educational goal will be challenging students to achieve and excel in an academic environment focused on developing strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills—a synthesis we will foster as a class as we continue on in the semester.
This site is designed to help students and parents remain connected with what is going on in class. I will post helpful reminders, assignments, and due dates in an effort to keep students accountable for the work that we are doing in the course. Please bookmark this page! Hopefully you will be using it a lot this semester.
Here we go,
Mr. Davis
